| My dog diamond stays inside with me, we always know when its time to wake up in the morning because you can hear the patter of little footsteps running and playing in her room. When i take her out for walks people always ask to buy her from me, one dude tried to give me 700 dollars for her. | Now I am really confused. Last night Jerome and I were walking China a and Blues with leash and muzzles(required by law). A huge black dog came charging across the street from his front porch. Jerome yelled to the owner who came running out to get the dog on a leash or in the house. For the first time I was really frightened because if anything should happen it would be our dogs that would be penalized. Anyway everything was ok, as the dog took off to the park. I called animal services today to find out exactly what the laws are about dogs being off leash and was told that as long as they are on their property then it is ok*with the exception of BSL dogs. So basically you have to wait for a dog to run off its property and hurt someone before you do anything(what a joke). I got talking to the Animal Control guy because there are so many questions about the BSL that really are confusing. He told me that as far as he knows, the last time this hit the courts(about 2 months ago) because Pitbulls are not recognized as a breed of dog here in Canada then any dog with that title or Pitbull mix no longer falls under the legislature. | post a comment / 77 answers, last 19 Nov 2008 14:31 14:31 /

A Shelter Dog named Hope
My owner left me tied to a tree and pregnant.
They have moved away and it has been couple of days since I last saw them.
I wait and no one comes.
Did I do something wrong to be punished like this?
My food has been gone since yesterday and my water dish dumped.
My belly grumbles with hunger and my puppies are moving around more.
I am almost due to have my puppies.
I lay down and sleep under the stars.
The next day a nice lady comes.
She puts a leash on me and takes me away.
Still no sign of my owner
I have lost so much weight from lack of food.
I am put into a truck and taken away.
I look out the window for any signs of my owner.
We arrive to this place and I hear a lot of dogs barking.
The pound is full
I am placed in a kennel with canned food mixed with dry.
They bring in some water.
I eat the food like there was no tomorrow.
A lady brings in a blanket for me to sleep on.
She gives me some attention and pets my head.

My friend had been trying to get me to take a pitty puppy from her gorgeous litter, but I really wasnt ready for another dog just yet.
Another year passed, another litter came around. On October 24, 2004 Rubi's mother started having her litter and my friend called me to come over and help.
Each birth was amazing, little did i know how amazing it would be! lol
My friend kept saying..."any one you want, its yours!"
I was like yeah yeah! So I thought since Kia (Rubi's mom) was having all males and they were brown & white
or mainly more black than white...I said "You know I must have a female and she must be white and black, NOT black & white...and we laughed.
Dont you JUST know it? Guess what the very next pitty born was?! A female, way much more white than black! I haven't had my dog a year yet, but the more I read about the BSL's and negative things I see about pits it pisses me off. I mean...how can you judge a breed if you have never owned one. This is my first pit and i must say, I am in love with them. My wife and I are already planning to adopt another as soon as we get a bigger place.
Back to the point of this statement...Does anyone know what I have to be in stored for? My dog loves kids, and loves to play with other dogs. I don't understand all of the negativity surrounding pitbulls. Can someone help me to understand? | post a comment / no answers /

| For those that know what bully sticks are, all dogs love them they are the ding dong of bulls and you can usually pick them up at pet stores and they are really good naturual chews but I had to share a website that sells 12 inches for only 3.99 and along with tons of other stuff so check out bestbullysticks.com Buddy prefers the braided ones the best. | post a comment / no answers /

 JUST DROPPING BY WISHING THE PITBULL COMMUNITY AND ALL THE FAMILIES A VERY GREAT SEASON
AND A NEW YEAR! WE ALL HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY AND ALSO TRYING TO STAY WARM, THE WEATHER HERE IN SOUTH DAKOTA IS NOT NICE IN THE WINTER. BUT WE PLAY AND STILL CAN'T WAIT TILL IT STARTS SNOWING. WE HOPE ARE OLD MAN GUNNER CAN MAKE ANOTHER WINTER WITH HIM BEING ON THE OLD SIDE BUT THEY MANAGE TO KEEP HIS OLD BONES FROM CHATTERING. JUST STOPPING BY TO SAY HELLO AND HAVE A GREAT ONE!!  WELL, WE ARE AT IT AGAIN....YESTERDAY WE WAS TOLD WE HAD 24 HOURS TO RID OUR DOGS. AND THAT THEY WERE TOLD WE HAD PITBULLS!!!! THE COPS WERE GOING AROUND KILLING ANY DOG THAT RESEMBLED A PITBULL. I TOLD THEM THAT WE ARE PROBABLY THE ONLY FAMILY THAT DOES TAKE CARE OF OUR DOGS, WE KEEP THEM FENCED IN AND UP TO DATE WHITH ALL THEIR APPOINTMENTS. I AM REALLY UPSET CAUSE THERE IS NO WAY THEY ARE TAKING OUR DOGS FROM US...AND WITH ALL THIS DRAMA MY HUSBAND IS STILL OUT IN IRAQ THINKING WHO KNOWS WHAT ABOUT THIS SITUATION. I HATE LIVING LIKE THIS, OUR DOGS DOES NOT CHASE ANYONE OR KIDS. VERY OBEDIENT AND LOVING!!!! SO WHAT NEXT..................THE COPS NEED TO BE FOCUSING ON THE PEOPLE GOING AROUND BURNING PROPERTY, ALL THE INTOXICATED PEOPLE WALKING AND DRIVING AROUND, THE DRUG DEALERS!!!!!
